Does English Language have a pre- script. It is like a post script with the only difference being that we write it at the beginning. I'm using one right now even if it isn't available!
Pre-Script- A big shout-out to Chandradeep and Monojit, my electrical engineering classmates and two of my close friends, for making this day as awesome as it was. It wouldn't have been possible without you guys!!
I could bore you guys with the definition of Holi and the fun it brings to normal people but I have a feeling that it would not be appreciated. So, moving on, I'm usually not a Holi kinda person. The last time I even went near colors was before my class 10 boards and thus this week held no excitement except for the fact that I was gonna go home for five days.
However, some of the people present in the class had warned us about something to do with planned attacks and just to be on the safe side, like all Indians playing Holi, I wore my "bad" clothes. I was in no intention of playing with colors and had planned to run as fast as my fat legs could allow!
Starting with Thermodynamics, continuing with Physics practical and finally ending with Engineering drawing: 7 quick hours and I would be free for the weekend. However, you guessed it right, my plans never work out the way I think!
During the lunch break, we all contributed to the price of buying the colors and internally I was planning my escape route....Everything was set. Just 3 hours to go!
The E.D class was a short one and sir had left us by 4 o' clock. The planners of the event were stopping the shy ones from leaving as some had already run away. Suddenly, I found the perfect route, I went down that path and I was free at last!
As I was about to leave, something....clicked inside me.Here, these people were trying to have fun and I was acting like a douche bag, leaving them and laying waste to their plans. I just thought to myself, what can happen? I would stay for 10 minutes , smile at them and then go my own way!
Boy!! It was a really good thing that I didn't leave. The fun which I had was unparalleled. The beginning was a bit violent with people getting in your face and punching your glasses out, but when the initial frenzy had settled, it was too good. Everyone was colored from top to bottom and we all were still chasing the shy ones. We all were unrecognizable and you had to get too close to a person to even have the slightest chance of identifying them.
Pretty soon, all of us were hungry (Yes! I know, It was mostly me!) and we went towards the canteen to curb our hunger pangs. Since I am a miser and a poor person (yes I am), I didn't want to spend my own money to buy anything. Fortunately, for me , there are some hotshots in our class who are not misers ( most of them are rich and misers and that pisses me off). That good friend along with another good friend sponsored a round of pepsi for everyone in our group. Seeing free food almost brought tears to my eyes.
I thought that the food round was over and it was time to go home. Dejectedly, I was walking towards the bus stand when I saw that one of my friend's mother had bought an entire box of sonpapdi for every one present there....
I just need a moment here...
It was a very emotionally moving moment for me. That much kindness in a single day was killing me.
Now, I thought that the day was absolutely over and I washed my face because frankly I thought that I wouldn't be allowed to sit in the bus with this face. I laugh at my innocence now. As soon as we finished washing, the predators struck for a second time and Round 2 had begun. Long story short, we had Five Rounds in total and I'm pretty sure that I'll catch a cold today.
FINALLY, after the end of all the secret weapons the episode was over and all of us decided to go home today. Wishing everyone a Happy Holi,we went on our separate ways. But Holy Shit! That was not the end of the day for me.
I've not written about it yet, but I was the Mr. Freshers of my Department and in the course of winning that title, I had impressed some of the seniors . I had thought that it would be a good thing.Unfortunately, that plan backfired. I wasn't even allowed to cross the department to go home. And then, after 10 minutes, I had my 6th face wash of the evening!
That finished the day for me and now I'm physically drained of all the energy stored in me. I have a train to catch tomorrow and I should really stop writing now. I haven't even packed for tomorrow.
I would like to wish my readers a very Happy and amazing Holi and as always I will see you in the next post. Buh-Bye!!
P.S: Here is a photo of today!
