A Quick Update During Lock down

This is just a lock down update. Nothing special, no stories. Just me and my thoughts! If these type of things turn you off, please feel free to go do whatever it is you're doing.

Let's start at the beginning, shall we? It was sometime in mid-March when governments all over the world decided that it was time to turn off the world which was, of course, justified. The news came to me on a Sunday and I'm not going to lie, it was refreshing. College was in whoop ass season and the break was a breath of fresh air. At first, for a week, I stayed in Kolkata because my sister's board exams had not yet been cancelled and it was unanimously decided that I would be a bad influence on her. It was a good week, not gonna lie. I played football for 4 hours straight on the first day and cricket on the days after that.

So, it was somewhat annoying, when my mom called me to Jamshedpur as soon as the exams were postponed. In hindsight, if not for my mom's insistence, I would have been in a tough spot now. We booked tickets for the next Saturday and at that day itself, the big guys in Delhi decided that trains would not run from Sunday. Got to really know the meaning of "In the nick of time" that day.

It was just supposed to be a 14 day quarantine for me and my grandparents. Yeah, made myself laugh writing this sentence. I had brought with me, three pair of clothing, one random book to read in the train and one book for studies to make my mom happy. I had packed for a short vacation, you know, a short and sweet vacation. Anyways, I had figured an awesome way to occupy my time. It is an extreme sport called walking. My sleep pattern had changed as well. I used to wake up at 6pm and then used to walk on my roof till about 9/9:30. After that, I would watch youtube till 12. The nights were reserved for movies and other stuff. Then at 5am, I would go to walk again on the roof and stay there till 8am. I would fall asleep by 9am and that was my day. Used to average about 30,000 steps per day at that time. If you saw me then, I bet you would've fallen in love with me, regardless of your sexuality.

Then came the blisters and rashes! My fragile body wasn't made for the torture it was being subjected to and it just gave up. I couldn't walk because the skin in my sole was bloated up like a balloon and the lesser you know about my groin region, the better. I was almost ready to give it up but then the weather got..better! I didn't know what was happening back in Kolkata that day but the winds were fantastic on my roof. I was elated and started running around like a fool on my roof. True Story, I almost lost my phone to the winds that day. Got a little bit scared and then thought that that was enough. After that, I went back and went to sleep.

When I woke up, everyone was going bonkers. Amphan had arrived! The visuals on the TV were frightening. Reporters were flying off themselves. Houses were destroyed everywhere. I called my neighbor in Kolkata and My God! He showed me a picture with a scooty in the background for reference. Water was upto the handle bars! Granny was howling because, of course, our ground floor house was flooded and we could not do anything about it. Till date, I don't know if my stuff in Kolkata is in a good shape or not. That was the day, my grampa started saying that it was time to go back to Kolkata. He's still here but he and mom have an argument almost everyday about this topic.

I don't really have a lot of stories from June and Jul...Oh yeah! I started walking in my society instead of my roof. I was accompanied by Leo and Frank as well. Met them face to face after like half an year. We didn't really have anything to talk about except the good ol' days. You know, who has anything to talk about anymore. We met almost everyday and reminisced about the years 2012-2015(My serious footballing years). I also started meeting Ronit <too much effort to make up a name. Also Jason is taken, so you'll not be anonymous> and we talked about some good philosophical shit. I am an idiot and couldn't even understand half the theories this guy was going on about. He's a real smarty.

I would just like to say that all three of the guys in the paragraph above are single, so if any of the ladies reading this want to try their luck, please contact me.

At the end of July, I started meeting my college mates virtually through Google meet. That was quite a surprise for sure. We meet once a week now and it's usually accompanied by a quick game of Skribbl. So. yeah, it's August now. Let's hope that the rest of 2020 is not as "eventful".

So yeah, that was my 2020 update. I know it's too short but what content am I going to come up with while being on my bed for 24 hours a day now? Uh yeah, I have stopped going out now because there is a corona case in the society beside mine. Fun days ahead, right? Yaay!

Let's hope I meet you guys, offline, soon enough and best of luck to all of you. I love you.(You should know that by now).

Alright people, I'm not gonna lie when I say that I was trying something new when I wrote the last one. It's apparently called the pseudo-truth method of writing. This happens when the narrator describes something from the first person point of view which may or may not be the truth. It certainly consists of things which are actually present in the real world in the vicinity of the narrator. In my case, I took the route from my college to my grandparents' house and escalated into this story. Well, can you blame me? I get bored in that God-Awful 2 hour journey and think of these things. I'm weird that way. Anyways, it's my bad that I didn't give you all a heads up and some people were genuinely concerned about my sanity. It feels good to be loved though. Link:  Click me This type of narration intrigues me and I'm gonna continue writing two or more stories like this. I should also say that I got this idea from reddit and you guys should definitely chec...

I was rage-baited

Time to get my creative juices floating again. I have been doing the video and audio format for so long now that it seems like the written format is not getting the love it deserves. It makes sense though since the written format takes the most time to create with how organized I have to make my thoughts. I can ramble on in the other ones but not this one. I know, first world problems in a third world country. I was talking to a friend in Jamshedpur ( Percy ) a few days ago about the deets in the big man city and got to know about an interesting development. There was a get together of some of my friends last week due to the 30th wedding anniversary of Mr. Hunter 's parents and from the photos, it seemed like a grand old money level party but I digress. In the party, Percy wanted to have some fun at my expense the reason of which I still do not know. I swear I have never made fun of him and bhabi ji ever with the mama y papa jokes in front of others but I believe it's time to ...

Thought Exercise - Part 1

If I had only known what was about to happen, I would probably have preferred to stay at home today... or maybe not. After Nolan's last movie "Oppenheimer", I thought that the first day first show would have to be a necessary watch and booked a ticket at AMB cinemas. I woke up early in the morning (earlier than I would have intended) and in my excitement, went 1 hour before I actually had to, to watch the movie. Probably should have stayed home a little bit longer and who knows? The awkward situation might not have arrived. I reached the theater 1 hour early and decided to roam the mall by myself. I tell myself that I went alone because no one is a bigger Nolan fan than I am but in reality, everyone was busy in their own life. Being the only bachelor in the friend group gives me a lot of time to explore alone because other people are busy being boring. I went to the food court to get myself a chicken roll and that's when I saw her. I had not seen that face in a long t...
